Elvaston Castle

Elvaston Castle is a crumbling estate situated in Derbyshire, England. Although no longer open to the public due to its poor condition, this Grade II-listed landmark was built in 1845 with the help of architect Samuel Sanders Teulon. Within this 200-acre estate lies mile upon mile of parkland with deep lakes set alongside Gothic-style features in varying states of repair. Sadly since 2008, it has been listed on the Buildings at Risk Register by English Heritage due to its poor state of repair. Work is currently being carried out by Elvaston Castle Trust, an organisation that has taken responsibility for restoring this National Trust estate so that they can continue to show off these important historical sites across Britain!
